I was worried I’d sound arrogant in interviews.

So I kept underselling myself.

Then I realized the problems I solve are valuable.

That’s when I started thinking of myself as ROI for my next employer.

And I made sure to present myself that way.

Example: Let’s say the company wants to build a music player.

  1. I list 2–3 roadblocks they’ll hit.

  2. I give 2 solutions.

  3. I connect it with my past experience — show how I solved something similar before.

Then I say my price. And I feel good. Every time.

Long story short:

If you invest $XYZ in me, as return you will be able to generate $XYZ with that new feature.

Fix your mindset. Decide what you want. Set a salary goal.

Not only entrepreneurs are allowed to earn a lot.
